- • Who can import: Individuals and companies may import; companies need Ministry of Commerce registration and a GDT VAT number, declarations go through ASYCUDA World, individuals usually use a broker
- • Left-hand drive only; right-hand-drive cars have been banned from import and registration since 2001
- • Used cars may be imported with no age ban, but duty is assessed on the GDCE used-vehicle reference price list (by model / year), not the invoice
- • From 1 April 2026 the import duty on battery-electric cars is 0% (Sub-Decree 52), plug-in hybrids 7%; special tax and VAT still apply
