Passenger cars (including electric, hybrid and used) pay 20% customs duty plus the 1% statistical fee, the 0.8% WAEMU solidarity levy, a 0.5% community levy and other levies; TVA of 18% is charged on the customs value plus all duties and taxes collected by customs. The advance tax on profits (AIB) is 1% for régime du réel taxpayers and 5% for other importers, on a base that includes TVA. At 1%, the total comes to about 46% of CIF; cars of 13 fiscal hp or more pay a further 5% (not in the calculator). From 2026 a research and innovation contribution of 15,000 FCFA per vehicle applies.
