EU duty 10% + VAT 22%, plus the DMV motor-vehicle tax: BEVs pay 0; petrol cars pay a CO2 band plus a Euro-class amount, only about EUR 64–128 for a 1.5T (WLTP 120–150, Euro 6d), rising sharply only above 190 g/km (DMV is included in the VAT base). New China-built BEVs and range-extender cars carry the EU countervailing duty: 35.3% unless a listed manufacturer issues the invoice with the required declaration; used cars (registered over 6 months and driven over 6,000 km) are outside it. Koper is Slovenia's own port, so cars clear customs on arrival. China-spec cars without an EU CoC need single-vehicle approval (cost estimated).
