No national age cap, but duty steps up with age: new cars (up to 1 year from manufacture) 15% + USD 0.4–1.25 per cc, 1–3 years 30% + USD 1.8–3 per cc, used 40% + USD 3 per cc; BEVs pay no duty and no excise, only 12% VAT (base CIF + duty) and the recycling fee. The recycling fee is BRV (UZS 440,000 from 1 September 2026) times a multiplier: BEVs and 1–2L petrol cars up to 3 years old 120 BRV ≈ UZS 52.8m (≈ USD 4,300, estimate), over 3 years 210 BRV; the per-cc part of the duty cannot be expressed by the engine, add about USD 900 for a new 1.5L petrol car and about USD 4,500 for a used one (estimate). Overland via Khorgos / Alashankou to Tashkent; emissions must be Euro 4 or better with a technical-regulation conformity document.
