Can this car get in?
- • Who can import: Individuals and companies may import; companies need an EORI number for customs; the registered keeper needs a Danish address (CPR / CVR)
- • A China-spec car without an EU CoC needs individual approval and a technical inspection before registration
- • EU duty is 10%; new China-built BEVs and range-extender cars also carry the EU countervailing duty, used cars (registered over 6 months and over 6,000 km) do not
- • Registration tax is progressive on the Danish VAT-inclusive assessed value (25% / 85% / 150%) plus a CO2 charge; in 2026 a BEV pays 40% of the ordinary tax minus DKK 161,300, i.e. zero below an assessed value of about DKK 419,000; the deduction falls from 2027
