BEVs pay 0% duty, 0% table tax and no development fee, so essentially 14% VAT; ICE up to 1,600 cc pays 40% duty + 1% table tax + about 3% development fee + 14% VAT, and above 1,600 cc the duty is 135%. Individuals may import one car every five years and must pay through an Egyptian bank (Form 4). An ACID code is required 48 hours before loading.
