Can this car get in?
- • Who can import: Individuals (ID / residence proof and tax ID NIF) or companies (trade register RC, import-export number and NIF); a licensed customs broker is required
- • Pre-shipment inspection: PVCM (Bureau Veritas CoC)
- • PVCM pre-shipment conformity certification has been compulsory since 15 March 2023 — without the Bureau Veritas CoC the car faces heavy fines or cannot clear

Main port of entry is Port of Nouakchott (PANPA). Mauritania strictly enforces LHD and requires mandatory pre-shipment PVCM certification (Bureau Veritas). Customs duties for ICE vehicles are 20% with 16% VAT and 1% statistical tax, while BEVs enjoy zero duty and zero VAT. Used cars are assessed based on a minimum valuation table.
