Can this car get in?
- • Age limit 10 years
- • Who can import: Individuals and companies may import; customs pre-checks Euro 4 and age against the VIN, manufacture date and model documents
- • Passenger cars more than 10 years from manufacture cannot be imported (vintage and temporary admission excepted); Euro 4 or better required
- • New BEVs are duty-free, used ones pay the petrol rates: BEVs up to 3 years from manufacture pay 0% duty (Cabinet Decision 411 of 2022, still in the consolidated tariff as of Sep 2026), older BEVs 15%; this page applies these rates. The BEV / hybrid VAT exemption was abolished on 1 January 2026, 18% now applies
- • Petrol-car duty is per cc: up to 1,500 cc new USD 0.4, used 0.7; above 1,500 cc new 0.7, used 1.2; a car counts as used once 1 year has passed since manufacture, regardless of mileage
- ⚠ The manufacture date is missing, so the destination age-based tax band cannot be determined. Model year is not a manufacture date.

Azerbaijan tax bands require the actual manufacture date, not the model year or registration date. Petrol/hybrid duty is calculated per cc; a vehicle is treated as used after one year from manufacture regardless of low mileage. BEVs no more than 3 years from manufacture are duty-free; older BEVs pay 15%. Excise is progressive by displacement with age multipliers as shown in the breakdown. VAT at 18% includes CIF, duty and excise in its base. If the manufacture date is missing or too imprecise to resolve a tax band, only FOB/CIF are shown and DDP awaits details. Confirm eligibility and actual taxes against the vehicle documents and current official tariff.
