Used cars cannot be imported (exceptions for returning Chileans, free-zone residents and diplomats). China-built cars pay 0% duty with a Form F certificate of origin (6% without), 19% VAT on CIF + duty and no import excise; first registration carries a green tax by fuel economy / NOx (zero for BEVs) and there is an annual 2% luxury tax on cars worth more than about 62 UTA. New cars need 3CV homologation or individual approval; left-hand drive; via San Antonio / Valparaíso.
