⛔ Só volante à direita: carros do mercado chinês (esquerda) não podem ser importados — precisa da versão RHD
• Idade máxima 4 anos
• Quem pode importar: Individuals and registered companies may import; used cars need an import permit from the Ministry of Commerce (TradeLink) before shipment, and commercial used-car dealing needs a dealer licence
• Right-hand drive only; LHD imports are prohibited (the 2026 Amendment No.3 allows LHD only for display), so a China-spec LHD car cannot be registered
• Used passenger cars must be between 18 months and 4 years from first registration at shipment (the first car imported by an individual is exempt from the 18-month floor); non-individual imports need an overseas inspection within 2 months before shipment
• BEV excise by motor power: 15% up to 180 kW, 25% above; ICE 45–100% by engine size, hybrids 25–75%, plug-in hybrids 15–55%; 15% VAT on CIF + excise

Mauritius is right-hand-drive only: LHD imports are prohibited, so a China-spec LHD car cannot be registered. Used passenger cars must be 18 months to 4 years from first registration at shipment (the first car imported by an individual is exempt from the 18-month floor) and need an import permit from the Ministry of Commerce before shipment. Duty is 0%; the tax is excise: BEVs 15% up to 180 kW and 25% above, ICE 55% at 1.0–1.6L, 75% at 1.6–2.0L and 100% above (hybrids 25–75%, plug-in hybrids 15–55%), plus 15% VAT on CIF + excise. A USD 20,000, 150 kW BEV: excise 3,000 + VAT 15% x 23,000 = 3,450, about USD 6,450 plus port charges. NLTA first-registration duty and annual road tax are not included. Main port Port Louis.
