Quem pode importar e o que entra

• Quem pode importar: Individuals (ID / residence proof and tax ID NIF) or companies (trade register RC, import-export number and NIF); a licensed customs broker is required
• Inspeção pré-embarque: PVCM (Bureau Veritas CoC)
• PVCM pre-shipment conformity certification has been compulsory since 15 March 2023 — without the Bureau Veritas CoC the car faces heavy fines or cannot clear
• Right-hand-drive cars are banned; left-hand drive only
• The absolute age ban on used cars was lifted in 2021, but customs taxes on a minimum reference grid, so cars over 8 years cost much more
• EV traction batteries need a UN 38.3 test report and the maker's certificate

Main port of entry is Port of Nouakchott (PANPA). Mauritania strictly enforces LHD and requires mandatory pre-shipment PVCM certification (Bureau Veritas). Customs duties for ICE vehicles are 20% with 16% VAT and 1% statistical tax, while BEVs enjoy zero duty and zero VAT. Used cars are assessed based on a minimum valuation table.
