Can this car get in?
- • Who can import: Individuals and companies may import; a Malian tax ID (NIF) is required, commercial importers need trader status (otherwise a 5% import withholding applies) and a licensed broker files at the Bamako vehicle single window
- • Pre-shipment inspection: PMCI / CET import verification (Bureau Veritas / BIVAC), fee about 0.75% of FOB
- • No used-car age limit, but customs values cars on Argus references and official minimum values
- • Right-hand-drive cars cannot normally be registered; ship left-hand drive only
- • Landlocked: sea freight to Dakar or Abidjan, then about 1,200 km by transit corridor to Bamako; register promptly after clearance (no long-term use of temporary chassis plates)
- • No battery-electric relief; Mali left ECOWAS in 2025 and the ECOWAS levy is replaced by a 0.5% AES levy
