Quién puede importar y qué entra

• Antigüedad máxima 10 años
• Quién puede importar: Individuals and companies may import and register in the owner's jurisdiction; foreign nationals need a Mongolian residence permit
• New Ulaanbaatar plates require manufacture within the last 10 years, Euro 4 or equivalent, and a pre-export inspection (from 1 June 2025), with LHD given priority; there is no nationwide age ban, maxAge 10 is the capital's registration condition
• Duty 5% (Mongolia's WITS submission: every 8703 and 8703.80 line at 5%); BEV / hybrid excise is 50% of the table (Government Resolution 164/2017); from 10 August 2026 a further 33% excise applies to customs value above MNT 360 million; a 2027 budget-package draft would exempt BEVs up to 3 years old from duty, not yet passed

New Ulaanbaatar plates require manufacture within 10 years, Euro 4 or equivalent and a pre-export inspection (from 1 June 2025, per the mayor's order), with LHD ranked ahead of RHD; there is no nationwide age ban. Duty 5% (BEVs too; Mongolia's 2023 WITS submission lists every 8703 subheading at 5%), VAT 10% on CIF + duty + excise. Excise is a fixed amount by engine size and age (Excise Tax Law Art. 6.3): new cars up to 1,500 cc MNT 750,000 (≈ USD 209), BEVs and hybrids 50% of that at 375,000 (≈ USD 104), a 2019 BEV (7–9 year band) MNT 1,675,000 ≈ USD 466; from 10 August 2026 a further 33% applies to customs value above MNT 360 million (≈ USD 100,000). A 2027 budget-package draft would exempt BEVs up to 3 years old from duty (2027–2029), not yet passed. Overland via Erenhot / Zamyn-Uud to Ulaanbaatar.
