Who can import and what gets in
- • Who can import: Individuals and companies may import; a National Revenue Authority TIN is required and a licensed clearing agent files the declaration
- • Pre-shipment inspection: ECTN
- • Left-hand drive only — right-hand-drive imports have been banned since 2014
- • No legal age limit on used cars, but cars over 10 years pay 30% duty
- • An ECTN cargo tracking note is required before shipment; on arrival the car takes the SLRSA roadworthiness (MOT) test
