EU duty 10% + TVA 20%; a CO₂ penalty (malus) is due at first registration — from 108 g/km up to €80,000; petrol cars default to 150 g/km here (about €4,300), but real values vary enormously, so enter the certified figure; non-electric cars above 1,500 kg also pay a weight penalty (only calculated if you enter the kerb mass); BEVs are exempt from both; Chinese-spec cars need single-vehicle approval; new Chinese-built BEVs get the maker's countervailing duty automatically, used cars exempt.
