Who can import and what gets in

• Age limit 10 years
• Who can import: Individuals or registered companies (companies need a valid tax ID, IFU)
• Pre-shipment inspection: Cotecna VOC & CCVA (TURIONE)
• Landlocked: cars transit through Lomé (Togo) or Tema (Ghana)

Burkina Faso is a landlocked West African country relying on transit corridors via Lomé (Togo) or Tema (Ghana) to Ouagadougou. Conventional passenger cars face an import duty of 20%, VAT of 18%, and regional levies, bringing the total effective tax burden to around 46.5% of CIF (plus 5% excise for vehicles >=13 CV).
