Tax rules and sources

EU duty 10% + IVA 21%; registration tax (IEDMT) in four CO₂ bands — BEV / PHEV / range-extender default to 0%, petrol defaults to the 121–159 g/km band at 4.75% (change it for bigger engines); some regions charge more; Chinese-spec cars need single-vehicle approval; new Chinese-built BEVs get the maker's countervailing duty automatically (BYD 17 / Geely 18.8 / SAIC 35.3 / Tesla 7.8 / others 20.7), used cars exempt.
